Preventing climate change does not only require the individuals' action but also the establishment of social, economic, legal and tax and fiscal policies to support these efforts. To this end, Kiko Network has research the current policies and measures on climate change, voiced its opinions, and taken action.

Paticipation of international negotiations and lobbying

At the third Conferences of the Parties (COP3) held in December 1997, it did not reach to an agreement in detail rules to start implementation based on Kyoto Protocol. Until the Marrakech Accords was adopted at COP7 in 2001, Kiko Network had put tremendous efforts to participate in and to lobby for international negotiations that aimed for making processes of solid international rules. After COP7, we still have cooperated with Climate Action Network (CAN) dealing with the global climate change and have participated in negotiations about the international framework.

Sharing the latest information about international negotiations or domestic measures related to climate change is necessary to advance regional activities to prevent climate change.
