<1999>
Building on the activities of the first
year, we participated in international negotiations to encourage the agreement of the detail rules of the Kyoto Protocol without loopholes. We also engaged in activities focused on the implementation of the reducing greenhouse gases emissions in Japan.
We participated in COP5 in Bonn, Germany, and we published a conference newsletter called "Kiko". We also supported NGOs in Asia representing developing nations in their participation in the negotiations. While we have advanced our own research on renewable energy and environmental management, we have also held seminars and study meetings in Kyoto and Tokyo. In December, over 700 participants from all over Japan participated in symposium "Citizenユs Promoting the Prevention of Global Warming '99"developed better understanding of climate change and exchanged their thoughts.
