<2001>
In the third assessment report of IPCC presented in April, the climate model was revised and showed greater temperature increase than previous model in the last report. The report mentioned actual cases possibly caused by climate change. However, international negotiations faced deadlock.
During the first half of 2001, we developed the campaign: "CHANGE! Campaign for Environmental Era" We held seminars and study meetings throughout Japan, encouraged citizens to participate in a message campaign, and worked with local assemblies. In the resumed meeting of the COP6, the voices of the citizens of the world were heard, which led to the Bonn Agreement on the Kyoto Protocol.
During the latter half of 2001, we focused on activities to encourage the domestic countermeasures to climate change and organized activities to provide information and to encourage citizenユs participation. We published booklets and leaflets such as "The good practice of Regional Actions to Prevent Climate Change" and "Climate impacts happening in Japan."
